S7020

S7020 Pin, Eyelet & Terminal Insertion Machine

S7020 dual-head pin, eyelet and terminal insertion machine: 12,000 CPH, bowl or reel feeding, 0–360° insertion, inward/outward clinch. Free sample test.

S7020 Pin, Eyelet & Terminal Insertion Machine – Feeder side

Insert pins, eyelets and terminals at 12,000 per hour.

The S7020 is a dual-head insertion machine for bulk or reeled pins, eyelets and terminals. Vibration bowl or reel feeding, vision-corrected 0–360° insertion and inward/outward clinching replace the slowest manual job on your THT line.

12,000 CPH with 2 insertion heads. Head count, feeders and tooling are configured to your parts.

At a glance

  • 12,000 CPH — with 2 insertion heads
  • 0.5–1.2 mm — terminal thickness range
  • ≤0.8° — vertical insertion error
  • 2 — insertion heads (1–4 on S7000 platform)
  • 360° — programmable insertion angle

Why pins and terminals are still inserted by hand

Small metal parts are tedious, sharp and easy to get wrong. These are the costs our customers wanted to remove.

  • Tiny parts, slow hands: Operators pick pins one by one from trays, so output per person stays low.
  • Bent or tilted pins: Hand pressing leaves pins out of vertical and causes connector mating problems.
  • Sore fingers, high turnover: Repetitive pressing is uncomfortable work, and good operators leave.
  • Missing positions: With dozens of identical pins per board, one gap is easy to miss until test.
  • Loose pins in the wave: Unclinched pins float or fall out during soldering.
  • Power-tool and auto customers expect more: They want process data and consistent insertion force, not manual variation.

How the S7020 removes manual pin work — Feature, Advantage, Benefit

Six machine functions and what each one changes for your line.

Speed: 12,000 CPH with 2 heads

Dual insertion heads.

  • Feature: Two insertion heads work together for up to 12,000 insertions per hour; S7000-platform machines can be configured with 1 to 4 heads.
  • Advantage: One machine replaces a whole bench of manual pin insertion.
  • Benefit: Lower labour cost and a fixed, plannable output.

Key points: 12,000 CPH · 2 heads std · 1–4 heads option

Feeding: Bowl or reel feeding

Bulk or reeled parts.

  • Feature: Vibration bowl feeders for bulk pins and terminals, or reel feeders for reeled terminals.
  • Advantage: Parts arrive oriented and ready; no hand sorting.
  • Benefit: Use your existing packaging without repacking costs.

Key points: Bowl feeder · Reel feeder · Bulk / reel

Accuracy: Vertical error ≤0.8°

Straight, seated pins.

  • Feature: Motion accuracy 0.001 mm/pulse with vertical insertion error ≤0.8°; insertion hole 0.5±0.1 mm larger than the lead.
  • Advantage: Pins go in straight and at a consistent depth.
  • Benefit: Connectors mate first time and rework drops.

Key points: ≤0.8° vertical · 0.001 mm/pulse · Vision correction

Clinch: Inward or outward clinch

Locked before soldering.

  • Feature: Bottom clinch unit bends pins inward or outward after insertion; minimum spacing between components 2 mm.
  • Advantage: Pins stay in place through handling and wave soldering.
  • Benefit: No floating or dropped pins after the wave.

Key points: Inward clinch · Outward clinch · ≥2 mm pitch

Direction: 0–360° insertion in 1° steps

Any orientation.

  • Feature: Programmable insertion angle 0–360° in 1° increments.
  • Advantage: Pins and terminals can be placed in any direction the layout requires.
  • Benefit: No design compromises to suit the machine.

Key points: 0–360° · 1° step · PCB 380×280 mm

Programming: Visual programming + Excel

USB import or manual entry.

  • Feature: Online visual programming with visual correction, Excel program import by USB or manual entry.
  • Advantage: New boards are taught on screen quickly.
  • Benefit: Fast changeovers for high-mix production.

Key points: Visual teach · Excel import · USB

Frequently asked questions

What parts can the S7020 insert?

Pins, eyelets and terminals with a thickness of 0.5–1.2 mm, from bulk (vibration bowl) or reel. Other press-in parts can be reviewed with your drawings and samples.

S7020 or S7020T?

The S7020 is the flexible pin/eyelet/terminal machine for bulk or reel parts. The S7020T is optimised for reeled terminals and inline SMEMA production.

Do our holes need to change?

The insertion hole should be about 0.5 ± 0.1 mm larger than the lead, with at least 2 mm between components.

Can it clinch the pins?

Yes, inward or outward clinching is available so pins stay put through wave soldering.

How fast do we get a quote?

Send your PCB size, BOM or component list, target output per shift and destination country. We reply within 2 hours in working time and quote the same day; a free live demo with your own components can be arranged before you order.

What about installation, training and spare parts?

Installation and operator training are included in the project plan (on site or remote). Spare parts ship from Shenzhen, and our engineers give a remote diagnosis and fix plan within 3 days.
